Tis the Season

 It's Been A Minute- I Know

I've stayed around home pretty much during the month of November.  The weather has turned very wintery and rains most days.  Also, I've visited much of the. nearby attractions. Except for the Hebrides islands like Mull.  But the weather has not cooperated. So I will save Mull for another time.
But I have taken a couple of trips closer to the end of the month.  One was a shopping trip to Glasgow at the Buchanon Galleries and the other was to London to see Eddie Redmayne in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club.
While walking in downtown Glasgow or in London, I have noticed entertaining signs pasted on buildings or in the street.  Here are a few of them

I have also mentioned before how much the pub names crack me up.  Some have really fun buildings - most are very old.

This one was in downtown London near Piccadilly Square.  London's answer to New York's Times Square.

I first saw Slug & Lettuce in York's Shambles Market during my last trip to the UK in 2017.

Mr. Fogg's pub was right across the street from my flat in Covent Garden area. Covent Garden is in Westminster and is very close to lots of theaters.  I will remember that the next time I visit.

Chipolte certainly had a magnificent building.  Just look at those cherubs on top of the door!

Cabaret was fantastic.  Before the show as we were queuing up to take our seats in the theatre (it was circular), there were musicians and dancers in period costume - 1930's Berlin to entertain us. Such talented musicians they were! Saxophone, clarinet, and accordion players. They performed throughout the evening during intermission and such.  Photography was strictly prohibited (they even put stickers over the cell phone camera lenses) - I would love to have shared pics of the costumes and set design. The production team's use of the small stage creatively was indeed perfection. All of the cast were so talented. I am so glad that I went!

2 more pics from London.

Selfie at Piccadilly Square.  It's a madhouse with so many people. Not much traffic though - which was nice.

On the way back from Glasgow, it rained hard.  And I saw my first Scottish snow in the nearby glens surrounding Loch Lomand.
Shopping in Glasgow

On my trip to Ft William, I visited Castle Interlochy.  It was originally built in the 1200s.

Double rainbow when I looked through through the courtyard to the back wall of the castle. That does not happy often!

And here is Stalker castle & a nearby church.

Sunset in Oban near McCaig's park.

Moving to Northumberland, England next week.  It'll be great to discover a new location.
